Lieberman Facing Serious Competition in Primary

It's rare that an incumbent senator faces more fierce opposition from members of his own party in his re-election bid. However, that's the reality that Joe Lieberman (D-CT) is living. He faces little realistic competition from the GOP this year, however, Democrat Ned Lamont has mounted a grassroots campaign to take the primary, and has earned the endorsements of many liberals nationwide. Lamont only needs to get 15,000 signatures to get his name on the primary ballot, and with Lieberman's recent defections on key issues, Connecticut will certainly provide them.

Dick Morris, Lamont's former consultant in a failed state senate bid, dismissed his client's chances of threatening Lieberman.

Morris also said that Jeanine Pirro would be a nightmare for Hillary Clinton this year.
